Young woman obeys gospel in Prestonsburg, KY

Some good news from here in Prestonsburg...

April 30, 2012
Devon has been attending our services with some friends recently. She has shown eagerness and interest in the Lord's work. She has expressed a desire to start a new life in the Lord. We've been looking forward to an opportunity to study together.
That opportunity came last night.
One of our ladies, Beverly Setser, and Devon's boyfriend, Nate, came with her. We all opened our Bibles together and for about 2 hours, studied the words of Jesus about salvation, and the book of Acts to see how men and women responded to His message.
Though it was getting late, Devon did not want to delay her obedience. She demonstrated her faith and repentance, made the good confession (Acts 8:37), and about 11:00pm, was baptized into Christ, dying to sin and rising as a new creation in Christ (cf. Romans 6:1-4; 2 Cor. 5:17).
Rejoice with us in Devon's new life in Christ, and pray that she will grow in His grace (2 Pet. 3:18)!

Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus. And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, "See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?" And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he replied, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him (Acts 8:35-38).

April 29, 2012
Dear brothers and Sisters,

Glory be the Father for the good day He has given us today and the good lady who handed over herself unto the able hands of the Almighty Father. Keep this congregation in your prayers for the Lord's work they are doing in this area.

In His love and care,
Benard and Dorothy Kagaga.

God bless the Kagagas and the work they continue to do in Kenya. God bless our new sister in Christ!

A new sister in Christ...

April 25, 2012
A few months ago, Chad was restored to Christ and the Finger church.

Since then, his girlfriend, Melissa, has been attending services with him and studying the Scriptures with him and Earl.

Last night, April 25, brother Earl baptized her into Christ. Let us all rejoice together!

Thanks to brother Lance Mosher, and the Finger, TN congregation for sharing more good news with us! God bless our new sister in Christ!
